Art of Speed Malaysia Organized LAMAxRIDE Convoy

National Run with SOP

KUALA LUMPUR, 27 JULY 2020 – Art of Speed, Malaysia’s very own homegrown Old-Skool & Kustom Kulture event, via its newly launched social club known as Art of Speed Club Chapter; organized their first National Run bike convoy last Saturday night. The bike convoys concurrently held in 20 cities and major towns in Peninsular Malaysia including Sabah & Sarawak.

The ride was planned in less than a week started off as a casual discussion topic in their private Facebook Group called Art of Speed Club Chapter. The discussion spurred after the founder of Art of Speed Malaysia, Asep Ahmad Iskandar and his passionate team launched the AOS Club Chapter better known as AOSCC on Monday 22nd June. The virtual launch was done in the private group which now has more than 11,000 invited members whoare also Facebook user.

“LamaXRide” is coined after the feeling of not being able to socialize on the road with two wheels in Malay which is “Lama Tidak Ride”. After upon agreed in the group, the members simultaneously agreed to have the ride concurrently in their own states as the nation is still observing the current Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) which will end on 31st August 2020.

Each motorcycle clubs agreed to ride in 20 pax in segregated convoys, observing social distancing, and during registration they were encouraged to take safety measures such as checking body temperature and always sanitizing their hands with carry on hand sanitizers.

Some clubs in certain cities started in the morning and some others initiated the convoy after 5pm till late. Roughly to say about 500 riders from various motorcycle clubs participated in this National Run.

Some cities started their ride after Maghrib prayers.

The riders also turned up in style as few sponsors were keen to donate lucky prizes to the best dressed rider. The method to determine the winner will then be done again in Virtual Meet in their private FB group this coming days by posting up pictures with the hashtag ride.
