HCS2023 – POV From AOS Staffer

Hi everyone!

It’s been a long overdue since we updated AOS fans with our trips. Now that we’re up and about again supporting other events let’s start with our recent trip to Mooneyes Japan.

Mooneyes have been organising the Annual YOKOHAMA HOT ROD CUSTOM SHOW on the first Sunday of every December. This is the 10th year they have been promoting the “Shi Zu Ka Ni” campaign – Be Calm, Not Loud – with respect to the residential neighbourhood around the Pacifico Event Hall near the Yokohama port.

AOS brought the 2023 Best of Show (Motorcycle) winner, Abang Mie, to the event. Unfortunately the 2023 Best of Show (Automobile) was uncontactable and missed his flight, even though the flight ticket, accommodation and event ticket were all prepared in advance.

We departed on 29 Nov at 8:00 am via All Nippon Airways (ANA). We gathered at 4:30 am at KLIA and had a quick bite at The Loaf before boarding the plane.

ANA served a nice Muslim breakfast set on the plane.

We touched down at Narita airport around 3:15 pm and our bus was ready to ferry us to the Prince Hotel at Shinagawa Tokyo. This year, Asep had arranged for our group to stay in Tokyo for 3 nights.

Of course we did a lot of sightseeing and shopping. The boys had a lot of fun.

On Thursday morning, Makoto Watanabe (Chopper magazine editor) came to the hotel and fetched the boys.

They visited Sundance Enterprises and Zak (the owner) invited Asep and Seman from Rachun Motor Club to ride their custom bikes.

On Friday, we arranged for our luggages to be transported to Yokohama via a postage service. We only carried a small bag for the Saturday morning train to Yokohama.

On Saturday 2nd Dec, the boys headed to the Pacifico Hall near the Minatomirai station while the ladies continued shopping at Tsukiji, Shibuya, Okachimachi and then headed to Yokohama city.

Munir and Asep prepared the AOS table inside the hall. Invited show guests from all over the world were allocated at the International Village area of the event.

Later that evening was the usual Get Together Party for International guests.

On Monday, the group had a free and easy day and in the evening we regrouped at Mooneyes Area-1, Honmoku, Kanagawa for the after party. We met up with Shige-san and other guests.

Tuesday we packed up after breakfast and headed to the airport for our flight home.

AOS would like to give our thanks to Jack S. Adli from Road To Japan (RTJ) for being our logistics partner this year! We are really thankful and highly recommend any big group to engage RTJ for your next Japan trip!
